CIAG, Chard Improvement Action Group, came to me a few months ago and commissioned a large outdoor mural that would celebrate Chard’s most historical building and bring the whole community together.

Wanting it to be a community project in itself I created a process in which the members of the CIAG could participate in the painting, no matter what their artistic backgrounds were.

Based on local artist Andrew Skriven’s original painting of the Toll House, and with him not wanting to do the mural himself, I needed to replicate another artists work on a vast scale and in a way that allowed members of the group to help with the painting.

The mission was big, bold and colourful!

It has been a pleasure to work with such lovely people who all helped make the process run as smoothly as it did and who helped in picking the perfect sunny July weekend.

Now finished and painted adjacent to the Chard Sainsbury car park you can go and see it for yourselves when next driving through the South West.

Available for private and community projects please get in touch to discuss ideas or for a quote.
