ÉGLOMISÉ & GILDING
Verre églomisé is the process of applying both a hand painted design and gold leaf gilding onto the rear face of glass to produce a mirror finish. Unlike oil, acrylic, or water-based gilding, églomisé is an unusual technique that involves applying the leaf to the back of the glass rather than the front. This means the artist has to work in reverse to create the design posing a much higher risk when creating this style of artwork.
COLLECTION BOOK
This collection book showcases a curated series of Katinka’s églomisé artwork samples — a contemporary exploration of the centuries-old technique of gilded and reverse-painted glass. Samples of any finish available on request.
